Geo Plant Care
Geogenanthus ciliatus

Native to the verdant rainforests of upper Amazonia, Geogenanthus ciliatus typically reaches 6-12 inches (15-30cm) in height and width when matured. Its leaves will become the highlight of your interior, because few plants are ready to show off such a fascinating variety of dark colors, from deep green to shades of silver, red, and purple, often with a contrasting underside. This plant is still rarely found on store shelves and is, therefore, unique.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Since the plant is native to the rainforest, it needs lots of water and air humidity. Never allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Since the light, temperature, and humidity in your room directly influence how quickly the soil dries out, it is best to keep the soil moist at all times. Test the soil moisture with your finger. If the top inch (3cm) feels dry, add plenty of water so it drains underneath the pot.
Pruning
Pruning of the plant is not necessary. But you can cut off older leaves as they wilt. Use clean and sharp pruning shears.
Fertilizer
In spring and summer, feed the plant with a complete liquid fertilizer diluted to 1/2 the manufacturer's recommended strength to avoid over-fertilization.
Sunlight
Keep your Geo Plant away from the windows and direct sunlight. These beautiful creatures will be doing just find under the low-light conditions.
Soil
It is important that the soil for Geo Plants is well-drained. We recommend adding perlite and orchid bark or coconut husk to the soil at a 3:1:1 ratio.
Propagation
Use stem cutting method for propagation. Choose a healthy stem with a few leaves, cut it off with clean scissors, and let it dry for about a day. After that, place the plant in moist soil or in a jar of water. If possible, use root growth hormone.
Temperature
The Geo Plant does well in room temperatures from 65-75° F (18-24˚C). Temperatures a little lower will not kill your green friend, but will slow its growth considerably. But never let the temperature go lower than 50° F (10˚C), and avoid drafts.
Container
Use a container with at least one drainage hole and a pot saucer for catching water.
