It can’t be said that people who choose outdoor cultivation have chosen the easiest path. Growing indoors, however, complicates things a bit, as the environment is not "tuned in" to grow plants that love a particular climate. Cannabis is a plant that loves certainty and stability. "Marijuana loves warm, hot climate," some descriptions of the strains state. But what exactly does it mean? Let's figure it out.
Relative humidity
Relative humidity (RH) may sound a little tricky, but we're here not to teach physics. Everything can be understood knowing a straightforward principle: warm air contains more water vapor than cold air does. The ideal situation for growing your marijuana is to keep the plant as warm as possible while still allowing the cool air to come through.
What tools to use for measuring?
So if you decide to grow a plant indoors, you need a hygrometer and a thermometer. Some growers use multiple appliances at once, in case one of them is not accurate enough. Moreover, it is possible to use a digital device with memory in it to view all past changes.
How do the indicators change throughout plant growth?
In general, the needs of marijuana concerning temperature and humidity can vary depending on the stage of growth; there are actually 4 of them.
At the stage of seedling, humidity should reach its climax - 65-70%. It is due to the plant's weak root system, as the higher moisture level allows water to absorb through the leaves. The "daytime," when the plant receives a dose of sunlight, should be accompanied by a temperature of 20-25 degrees Celsius. (Remember that the "night" temperature at any stage will be lower by 4-5 degrees, but should not reach critically low levels because the plant may die).
During the growing season, you need to reduce the humidity every week by 5%. Please note that the lowest acceptable moisture content is 40%, and the hygrometer needle should never go lower. At this stage, plants can cope with water absorption themselves, but high humidity can cool the plant. Also, at this point, you can increase the daytime temperature to 22-28 degrees.
The essential thing during the flowering period is to bring the humidity down to the lowest possible value for the plant (40%). If you are worried about the condition of the plant, or it shows signs of ailment, keep the temperature at 50%, but what is crucial is not to reach the 60% mark. Otherwise, mold can ruin your crop. It is advisable to avoid high temperatures during the stage, so the maximum allowed is only 26 degrees Celsius.
The late flowering period that marks the coming harvest can be vital to improving your cannabis performance. You can enhance the taste and power by lowering the humidity to 30% and the temperature to 24 degrees.
How do your devices affect the performance?
We have just a small note to make your life easier when caring for plants. We have selected the most common devices and have decreased this cheat sheet to some short symbols. For example, a plus is a slight increase in performance, two pluses is a standard increase, and a minus is a decrease in performance.
Dehumidifier (➕ temperature,➖ humidity)
Air conditioner (➖ temperature,➖ humidity)
Heater (➕ ➕ temperature, ➖ humidity)
Evaporative cooler (➖ temperature, ➕ ➕ humidity)

Nuances that arise during adjusting humidity and temperature
Be sure to allow air to circulate. If the environment is too hot, it is worth ventilating the room, letting this air out.
Despite the widespread belief that fans do not cool the air, the device is your friend. You can easily balance the room temperature using it.
Remember that each strain is unique. Some of the plants will be more concerned with the climate than others. Study the characteristics of your strain before growing.
Regulating the indoor air is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. Therefore, you should not be afraid of doing that, even if you are a beginner. Growing cannabis is fun and rewarding because soon, the plants will bring the long-awaited harvest that you have grown yourself!
