How to Care for the Plant
Water
Water well. The plant will droop a bit when thirsty, telling you when it needs a drink. If you pay attention to when it usually starts to sag, you can plan to water one day before it generally happens. Watering about once a week and spritzing leaves with water throughout the summer will help keep your peace lily hydrated.
Pruning
Deadhead flowers as they fade and cut stems back after the foliage has turned yellow.
Fertilizer
Not necessary unless you transplant the bulbs outdoors. Feed monthly with a balanced water-soluble fertilizer.
Sunlight
Plant Easter Lilies in a sunny location; make sure the bed is well drained, organically rich and mulched. Easter lilies like to have their roots shaded; mulch will help shade the roots.
Soil
Acidic, neutral. Loamy, well-drained.
Temperature
Easter lilies prefer somewhat cooler temperatures. Ideally, the daytime temperature should be 60 to 65 °F with slightly cooler night temperatures. Avoid placing plants near drafts, and avoid exposure to excess heat or dry air from appliances, fireplaces or heating ducts.
Container
Keep the soil moist, but not too wet. And for proper drainage, you might want to remove the decorative foil most potted Easter lilies come in. If you are planting a bulb in a container, Lambton recommends planting it in a well-drained pot with good potting soil (not too dense or wet).
Additional
This fragrant seasonal plant is extremely poisonous for cats.
