Silver tree Care
Pilea spruceana

Pilea spruceana are from the Urticaceae family and originate in the mountains of upper South America. These plants are closely related to other plants, like the friendship plant.
These greenies can be identified by its dark green leaves, which sometimes seem almost black in the right light. They tend to be rather short, not getting taller than 1 foot (30 cm).

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Water the plant once the top and upper depths of the soil are dry. Be vigilant for mold and root rot.
Pruning
Cut about 1 inch (2.45 cm) away from the tree to keep its shape. Make sure to cut just above the leaf to ensure continued growth.
Fertilizer
Fertilizer is not needed, generally speaking. However, a general-purpose fertilizer once or twice a year can promote growth.
Sunlight
Pilea silver trees love some warmth, but they don't like the spotlight (shy, aren't they?), so don't put them directly in the sun. This will keep them healthy and happy.
Soil
Ensure the soil drains well, so include large pieces of wood or other objects. Hummus soil rich in nutrients is best, especially when it is slightly alkaline to slightly acidic.
Propagation
Take a small cut of about 4 inches (10 cm) and plant it in nutritious soil that drains well. Keep moist and in sunlight; the cut should have roots in about a month.
Temperature
Temperatures as low as 45ºF(7℃) to as high as 95ºF (35℃) will keep your Pilea Silver Tree happy and thriving.
Container
Depending on the plant, make sure to use a container with about 1 inch (2.45 cm) of room between the root system and the walls of the container. Most importantly, ensure the container has suitable drainage holes, as this plant can easily suffer from root rot. Change into bigger containers as the plant's roots grow.
Fun fact
These plants originate from mountainous areas.
