Peperomia albovittata Care
Peperomia albovittata

Peperomia is a perennial and related to pepper plants. It comes from a large South American family (about 1,000 species in the genus, a few from Africa). In fact, the name alone means āthe plant related to the pepper.ā Their succulent, heart-shaped leaves distinguish peperomia plants from other small potted tabletop houseplants. Unique, succulent leaves, bushy uprights or rosettes make many of the peperomia types attractive as indoor plants, and find fun to collect.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Peperomia piccolo banda is semi succulents, they need minimal watering. They are drought-tolerant plants. Water them once a week or once in 2 weeks during a growing season and reduce in winters. Check a soil before watering your plant if a soil feels dry to touch up to a 1 cm or 1 finger knuckle.
Pruning
Dead or dying sections of the plant can encourage pest infestation or disease. Removing these not only makes your houseplant look better, but reduces the risk of further problems down the line.
Fertilizer
Use slow-release fertilizer for container plants. Avoid using too much fertilizer.
Sunlight
Give the plants a break during the hot summer sun and place them in a partial shade.
Soil
The ideal blend of soil for plant growth is called loam. Often referred to as topsoil or black dirt by landscape companies, loam is a mixture of sand, clay, and silt.
Temperature
Warm locations with 20 to 30Ā°C (68 to 86Ā°F) the year round are perfect. Peperomia albovittata can also spend the winter placed at 15 to 20Ā°C (59 to 68Ā°F).
Container
When choosing a pot, choose a pot that is 2.5-5 cm (1-2ā) larger than the current size. Ceramic pots are porous which means your plants are less likely to experience root rot from overwatering. It also means you'll have to water more often. Plastic pots are lighter, less likely to break, and easier to clean.
