What is the plant

Often called the “Neon Philodendron” or “Heart Leaf Philodendron”, the Philodendron сordatum is easy to identify for its heart-shaped leaves and bright lime-green color. Not often found or offered as a houseplant, Philodendron cordatum is a rare, poisonous species. It is native to a small region on the southeastern coast of Brazil.

Native to the rainforests of South America, this tropical plant traveled to Europe where it quickly gained popularity. Starting as a bright pink, the Philodendron Cordatum will grow to a lemon color that will turn lime green as the plant ages.

As an evergreen plant, the Philodendron Cordatum will stay green all year round! This is also an easy plant that will grow quickly. Most Neon Philodendrons reach heights of 10-12 inches (25-30 cm) and grow long vine-like stems.
