How to Care for the Plant
Water
Neon Pothos needs regular watering as soon as the topsoil becomes dry. However, you need to drain excess water from the pan so as not to cause root rot. The plant also needs spraying, especially on hot days.
Pruning
You need to trim new sprout tips to control the shape and size of the plant and remove unkempt climbing vines. You may prune at any time of the year.
Fertilizer
Epipremnum needs fertilizing twice a month from April to early autumn and once a month during the cold season. As a top dressing, you can use liquid fertilizer for vines.
Sunlight
Epipremnum aureum loves bright light but can also live in partial shade. Only a very hot sun can be dangerous for a plant since, in the wild, Neon Pothos lives in shadow.
Soil
Epipremnum feels well in neutral soil. You can use a ready-made ornamental leafy plant substrate that contains humus. Experts recommend adding good drainage to the bottom of the pot.
Propagation
Neon Pothos propagates by cuttings. To do this, you should use stems with 2-4 leaves. You need to plant the cuttings in a sand and peat substrate. Professionals advise keeping cuttings between 72-77 degrees Fahrenheit (22-25 degrees Celsius) and spraying regularly.
Temperature
This plant is afraid of drafts and sudden temperature changes. Neon Pothos feels comfortable at normal room temperature - 65-76 degrees Fahrenheit (18 - 25 degrees Celsius). Winter temperatures should not fall below 55 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius).
Container
You need to choose a large container to accommodate the plant's root system, but not too large. Neon Pothos does not like when excess moisture lingers in the container, so the container must have a drainage hole.
Fun fact
In the wild, Epipremnum leads a Hemiepiphyte lifestyle. It means the plant sometimes lives on tree trunks as a parasite; however, it does not harm the tree.
