Serrano Pepper is one of the most famous cultivars there is, with a more intense and flavorful taste than its sibling, Jalapeño. This variety adds a vibrant kick to any culinary adventure.
The Serrano Pepper is another Capsicum annuum variety. It's pretty close to other peppers and, get this, even potatoes because of its nightshade family origin! It's originally from Mexico, but you can grow it in warmer places like USDA zones 9-11. It gets about 18-24 inches tall (45-60 cm), has green leaves, colorful blooms, and small fruits that turn red when they're ripe. They're usually around 1-2 inches long and can be pretty spicy, measuring between 10,000 to 25,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units), depending on how they were grown and when they were picked.
