Combining showy bloom and superior cold hardiness, this Gable Hybird evergreen azalea bears fully double purplish-pink flowers from mid- to late spring on compact domed plants. The camellia-shaped blooms are carried in two- to three-flowered clusters. The small oval leaves are light green.Developed mostly by Joseph Gable of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, Gable Hybrids include some of the hardiest evergreen azaleas available, thanks to the contributions of Rhododendron yedoense var. poukhanense and R. kaempferi to their pedigree. Gable Hybrids are also tolerant of heat and drought. They have relatively lengthy bloom and are reliably evergreen.
