Epipactis leptochila, the narrow-lipped helleborine, is a species of orchid in the genus Epipactis. Found in chalk or limestone-based beech and hornbeam woodland in southern England, the orchids are also found with birch and alder trees in Scotland and the north of England.
Avoid over watering as this can lead to root rot. Position your orchid in a bright windowsill facing east or west.
Light soil is best, with good drainage, but helleborine will tolerate other types of soil. They are especially at home in wet conditions, such as along a pond edge or stream.
