Hylotelephium telephioides is a perennial herbaceous plant with alternate, simple leaves, on succulent stems, with sparse, irregular toothing. The flowers are pale pink, borne in fall. The similar species Hylotelephium spectabile and H. telephium both have flowers that are a significantly darker pink.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
The best way to water Hylotelephiums is to use the "soak and dry" method. Get the soil completely wet and then wait until it is dry before watering again.
Pruning
You can remove the stems with clippers or pruners or simply pinch them off. The jointed stems of some sedum will simply pull right off and can be planted for new plants if you wish. For taller species, cut them back in May to early June for a bushier plant.
Fertilizer
Feed annually with a balanced fertilizer. Apply the fertilizer to the soil in spring as new growth appears, according to package directions.
Sunlight
When grown outside it likes full sun or afternoon shade, when grown inside it needs bright light and some direct sun.
Soil
Soil: H. telephioides does not need rich soil, but it does need excellent drainage. Choose a commercial potting mix for succulents or make one yourself.
Temperature
Hardiness: This plant has a tolerance to heat and drought and is cold-hardy.
Container
Succulents and cacti thrive in well draining, porous soils. Gravel or expanded shale can be added to the bottom of the container to help increase drainage. Never let the container sit in a saucer of water. If your container does not have a drainage hole, you will need to water less.
