Golden Creeping Jenny is an easy, fast growing ground cover that looks great in containers as well. The foliage is yellow-green and slightly rounded with an abundance of bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers appearing in the early summer.
Note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden.
This plant will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and should not require much pruning, except when necessary, such as to remove dieback.
If you spread your fertilizer too heavy, you can risk burning your lawn! Nitrogen, while it is an essential nutrient for plant function, can seriously harm turf in high doses. If it is spread too thin, it can have little or no effect on your lawn and just get washed away. You want your fertilizer rate to be set “JUST RIGHT”, so that you use the perfect amount on your lawn. (We call it the Goldilocks rate for the similarities to the story of the three bears… not too much, not too little, but just the right amount)
Performs best in full sun or part shade, in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils. This plant requires partial shade in hot summer areas.
Place trays/containers on a heat mat or use another means to achieve soil temperatures of 80-85 degrees F to get best germination rates.
Height 2-4 Inches; Width 12-14 Inches; Use as a spiller when using in containers; Prized for its chartreuse foliage!
This fabulous plant makes quite a fashion statement, just like its namesake, and it's 100% safe and non-toxic. Loosestrife is a fast growing, evergreen spreading plant. The flowers are bright yellow and cup-shaped with a darker center but they can produce different coloured flowers. 'Goldilocks' has lovely golden yellow, up-turned, cup-shaped flowers above golden yellow leaves.
