What is the plant

Peonies are usually identified as garden flowers; however, they are grown in pots as well, decorating balconies and terraces of houses. Western China and Mongolia are considered places of its origin since the Chinese were the first to use these flowers as cultural decorative plants.

Peony, which original name is Paeonia, can be identified by their large bushy blooms with yellow stamens in the center. Peony bushes can get to about 35.4 inches (90 cm) tall and about 31.4 inches (80 cm) wide. The whole variety of existing types of Peonies can be divided into 3 groups: herbaceous, tree, and intersectional. Due to its deep roots, transplantation is a challenging process for them or sometimes even impossible!

You do not need to feed Peonies too often. It would be great to use a nitrogen and potassium fertilizer in early spring, as well as a complex one during bud formation. Finally, apply a phosphorus fertilizer a few weeks after flowering.

These leafy friends are sun-loving but prefer cool weather over hot, so 71˚F (22°C) will have a good effect on their flowering.

Identify an appropriate pot depending on the type of your green friend! It is better to use large containers since this plant is not a low-growing one. The only requirement is to provide drainage holes as too wet soil can be fatal for its roots.
