Erica arborea is an upright shrub with dark green leaves that are stiff, grooved on the undersides. In Spring, this species produces bell-shaped, grayish-white flowers, 1/8 inches long, that are honey scented. The cultivar, ‘Albert’s Gold’, rarely bears flowers and has golden foliage.
