The Myriocarpa longipes is a shrub or a small evergreen tree usually dioecious, rarely monoecious, 1,5-6 m tall, with pubescent branches. Its common name is Chichicaste.
Chichicaste is a large shrub or small tree, usually growing 3 - 6 metres tall but with exceptional specimens to 10 metres. The plant is sometimes gathered from the wild for local medicinal use. It is also sometimes cultivated as a hedge. This plant can be found in Central and South America.
