1. Provide proper sunlight, water and fertilizer to the plant 2. Check for any signs of pests or diseases, such as aphids, whiteflies, or powdery mildew 3. Prune the plant to remove any dead or damaged leaves and stems 4. Rototill the soil around the plant to improve drainage and aeration 5. Add compost or mulch to improve soil health 6. Remove weeds from around the base of the plant 7. Use a neem oil spray to control pests and diseases.

The yellow crispy leaves can happen when a plant is under watered but pests could cause enough damage to result in that. Scale usually attacks the stems and veins of the leaves so Im not sure if it is. Definitely not normal. You could try spraying with neem oil once a week to kill it.
