Repot into a bigger pot make sure to rip some roots at the bottom and sides to get it started, and make sure you plant closer to the top of the pot. Put layer of chunky stones at bottom of new pot. Use multi-purpose compost and water. Then test the soil with ur finger moving forward. If dry water the whole pot. If wet/damp leave it alone. Keep near the window warm and sunny. Make sure to drain the tray or dish you put the pot on even a small puddle, and the pot has good drainage holes.
In the process of taking it out the current pot. Check for root rot, the roots will be spongy or slimy. Cut the dead from the string living roots and alternatively lightly pull away and most of the dead roots will detach anyway. If your concerned with the left over root system get some root hormone to encourage new root growth. You can buy this out of a garden centre or Amazon. Good luck!
Add some coffee ground, a circle round the main root once every 3-4 weeks. Or banana peel water 2-3 times a week max. (leave a banana peel in water for 2-3 days) for nutrtional value. But not too much of any, you can get away with the peels more because their lower dosage. Good luck!
Yeah somethings wrong. The root system should be a lot bigger after a year. Try watering a little more often, and increase light. Have you fertilized it? They dont need a lot of ferts but maybe itll help jump start yours? Id start with diluted ferts maybe once a month, and try a warmer/brighter location.
This is a Sansevieria trifasciata plant, which is a species of the Snake Plant. The issue with this plant is that it appears unhealthy, with yellow leaves and a lack of new growth. To fix this issue, the following steps can be taken: 1. Provide the plant with adequate light. Snake plants prefer bright, indirect light, but not direct sunlight. 2. Water the plant properly. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, but not completely. 3. Fertilize the plant with a balanced fertilizer, such as a 20-20-20 fertilizer, during the growing season. 4. Repot the plant in well-draining soil, using a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. 5. Prune the plant to remove any dead or damaged leaves and to promote new growth. 6. Provide the plant with enough humidity. Snake plants prefer a humidity level of around 40-60%. 7. Keep the plant away from drafts and direct heat sources. 8. Finally, it's important to keep an eye out for pests and diseases that may affect the plant, and take action if any are found.
