The plant in the image appears to be a Beaucarnea recurvata, also known as a prayer plant. It has an unusual shape and seems to have some damage to the leaves, which could be due to overwatering or underwatering. Here are some tips to help fix this issue: 1. Watering: Make sure to water the plant regularly, but not too much. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. 2. Lighting: Provide bright, indirect light for the plant. 3. Soil: Ensure the soil is well-draining and contains good organic matter. 4. Fertilizer: Feed the plant with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season. 5. Repotting: If the roots have grown too big for the current pot, repot the plant in a larger one. 6. Pruning: If necessary, prune the plant to promote a more desirable shape. 7. Pest control: Check for any pests or diseases and treat accordingly. By following these tips, you can help the prayer plant recover and thrive.

My ponytail palm always does this thing around this time where all the leaves turn yellow and die. My gardner knows not to water it during this time. Then, everything comes back green and I peel off the yellow leaves. Your soil mix looks different. For some reason I think these plants like loam

Add some coffee ground, a circle round the main root once every 3-4 weeks. Or banana peel water 2-3 times a week max. (leave a banana peel in water for 2-3 days) for nutrtional value. But not too much of any, you can get away with the peels more because their lower dosage.

Remember to ensure good drainage of pot and tray at all times and always soil test to then gage/schedule how quickly your plant needs more water. If dry, water all the soil and drain the excess from pot and tray at all times. If wet/damp leave it alone! Let it dry. Good luck!
