Cortaderia selloana, commonly known as pampas grass, is a flowering plant native to southern South America, including the Pampas region after which it is named.
Pampas grass Care
Cortaderia selloana

Hardy Pampas Grass (Cortaderia selloana) is a rugged, tall, good-looking perennial plant with lots to offer in both form and function. Because it grows between ten and thirteen feet in height, and individual clumps can spread to a width of six feet, it is an excellent choice as privacy screens. Its beauty easily matches its practical applications. Cortaderia selloana plants sport large and fluffy stalks of graceful plumes or flowers with various shades of white, cream and pink in the late summer. Cut plumes for adding to dried floral arrangements, or simply leave them in place for added winter landscape interest.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Once established, pampas grass care is minimal, requiring little maintenance other than watering in extreme drought. it should also be pruned each year to the ground. this is usually performed in late winter or early spring.
Pruning
It is important because damaged leaves and stems can actually be an energy drain on your plant. By removing those dead parts, you're taking some of that work off your plant’s plate and allowing it to divert its energy into healthy leaves and new growth!
Fertilizer
As with most houseplants, they will benefit from an occasional feed during the growing season. An organic, balanced, liquid fertilizer once a month during spring and summer is recommended.
Sunlight
12-14 hours of indirect sunlight.
Soil
Use a well-draining indoor potting mix with perlite to help with drainage.
Temperature
The plant is not cold hardy so cannot be grown outside in the areas where temperatures drop below freezing.
Container
Here’s a handy guideline: increase pot size by 2.5-5 cm (1 to 2 inches) in diameter for plants that are growing in pots 25.4 cm (10 inches) in diameter or less. For larger plants, those growing in pots greater than 10 inches in diameter, increase the pot size by 5 or 7.62 cm (2 or 3 inches) in diameter.
