China Doll Plants Care

The flower is watered frequently in the spring and summer, and this is done right after the top layer of the soil mixture in the container dries. Watering frequency and quantity should be gradually reduced as autumn approaches. In the winter, the soil mixture in a pot is wet only after the top layer has dried for two days.

In order for the bush to be lush, regular pinching of the upper buds on the stems is necessary.

China Doll Plant is fed once every 15-20 days from mid-March to early September. Use a mineral combination for decorative leafy plants to do this.

Сhina Doll Plant thrives in a little shade when planted indoors. However, it is still preferable to locate it in an area with abundant diffused light. The bush can be placed on the northern windowsill, but it will suffer from a severe shortage of light in the winter. The flower in a south-facing window must be protected from the blazing heat. A flower should be placed in a window that faces west or east.

A fertile soil mixture of soddy and leafy soil, peat, and humus (1:2:1:1) with the addition of sand is excellent for the radermachera. For decorative plants and flowers, you can also use regular store-bought soil.

Cuttings, layering, and seeds can all be used to grow China Doll Plant. Beginning in the summer, cuttings are made by cutting off approximately 3 in (10 cm) of the tops of the shoots and placing them in a container with sand and peat.

Radermachera requires warmth of 68-77°F (20-25°C) during its active growth period. It thrives at room temperature during the winter months. However, it is advisable to relocate the bush to a cool location during this time – 57-65°F (14-18°C).

The China Doll Plant does not require a large pot because its root system is thin and fibrous. Choose a container just a bit wider than the root ball.

It is commonly referred to as the "Chinese Doll" and "Snake Tree", and for its glossy foliage of a beautiful dark green hue – the "Emerald Tree".
