Pedicularis hacquetia Another to be admired is P. foliosa (in the Carpathians a similar plant is P. hacquetica). This has creamy yellow flowers with bright green foliage and gets its name from the leaves that extend out from between the flowers.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Water the Indian warrior plant with a 1/2 gallon of distilled water to settle the soil. Water the plant again only when the top 3 inches of soil dries out. Provide supplemental water only during its first summer in the garden. Distilled water is preferred since it is more similar to rain water than standard tap water.
Pruning
Cut back after flowering.
Fertilizer
Mulch around the base of the plant with a 1-inch-thick layer of compost. Spread the mulch around a 10-inch radius to help hold moisture around the plant's roots. Leave a 1-inch gap between the base of the plant and the inner edge of the compost.
Sunlight
Full sun, partial shade.
Soil
Perform well in most types of soil.
Temperature
Provide good air circulation, with temperatures between 65 (18 °C) to 75 F (23 °C) and nighttime temperatures between 50 t(10°C) to 60 F (15 °C).
