Trichilia is a flowering plant genus in the family Meliaceae. These plants are particularly diverse in sub-Saharan Africa and tropical South America. They are small trees to dioecious or polygamous trees ; leaves are odd-pinnate, rarely with 1 to 3 leaflets, glabrous or with simple, stellate trichomes or with peltate scales. Flowers unisexual, rarely bisexual; capsule fruit with 2 to 3 valves; seeds 1 to 2 per loculum, generally enclosed by an aril.
Several species are used in folk medicine and shamanism.
