Bourreria succulenta is an evergreen shrub or small tree with spreading or drooping branches; it can grow 3.5 - 7.5 metres tall. The bole can be 10cm or more in diameter. Bourreria succulenta has a number of medicinal uses including treating diarrhea, fevers, nerves, pain, skin infections and inflammations, weak bladders, and as a component of strengthening and aphrodisiac teas. The fruits are edible to humans.
