Need every 2 weeks spring through fall with a 2-7-7 liquid plant food diluted by half. Do not feed in winter.
Sandy loam soil provides excellent drainage to prevent the bulb from rotting and the roots can grow easily.
Temperatures below 20 °F (-6 °C) will kill the plant, and temperatures which may go below 45 °F (7 °C) during extended period should be avoided.
Succulents and cacti thrive in well draining, porous soils. Gravel or expanded shale can be added to the bottom of the container to help increase drainage. Never let the container sit in a saucer of water. If your container does not have a drainage hole, you will need to water less.
