New to us, Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Summer Sunset' is a slow growing, evergreen climber with vivid orange, red and gold variegated leaves, particularly colourful in Spring and Summer. Established plants have clusters of fragrant creamy-white flowers in summer which turn yellow with age.
Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine is exceptionally easy to grow. It tolerates many soil types, including clay, but prefers and will spread faster in a moist but well-drained, loamy soil. It will tolerate temporary flooding but does not like constantly soggy or wet soil. Jasmine plants like water. The soil should always be slightly moist, but not soggy.
It is a sun worshiper, so make sure it is planted in an area where it gets direct sunlight. The sun will bolster the colors of the foliage. If planted in the shade, the leaves will be mostly green with some specks of orange and cream.
A 7-9-5 fertilizer works well for jasmine plants. It is 7 percent nitrogen, which ensures lush, healthy, green leaves, 9 percent phosphorus for abundant, large flowers and 5 percent potassium for strong roots and improved resistance to diseases, insects and drought.

Prune in spring, immediately after flowering. Flowers are produced on the previous year's growth. Pruning after flowering gives the new growth time to mature and flower next season.
Temperature – Being a tropical plant, Jasmine plants are able to handle hot and humid temperatures, but they will not survive cold, winter temperatures. When growing Jasmine, try to keep the temperature between 60 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
