Sphaeralcea ambigua, commonly known as desert globemallow or apricot mallow, is a member of the genus Sphaeralcea in the mallow family (Malvaceae). It is a perennial shrub native to parts of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico in the United States and Sonora and Baja California in northwest Mexico.

How to Care for the Plant

The seeds should be sown at a depth of 7 mm into a poor sandy soil that has a pH of 5 to 8. They like to grow in sunny location.

Container

Plant mallow in ordinary soil, well drained, in semi-shade. It is resistant to drought and withstands poor soils, and even limestone. In pots, prefer a sunny spot, and a substrate composed of potting soil and garden soil.
