How to Care for the Plant
Water
Native plants prefer deep and infrequent water. One 30-minute soak every 7-10 days is better than 10 minutes three times a week. How often you water depends on your soil type, sun exposure and the weather, as well as the age of the plant.
Sunlight
Keep in mind that amaranth will be most productive in full sun (i.e., at least six hours of direct sunlight).
Soil
Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils.
Ease your plant care routine with PlantIn's personalized system.
Temperature
Amaranth cannot tolerate cold temperatures.
Container
The kind of amaranth grown for grain will not grow well in containers.
