Thalictrum lucidum is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Ranunculaceae. Its native range is Europe to Western Siberia and Turkey. This is a meadow rue which gives great vertical accent for the garden border. It has gorgeously scented summer flowers of creamy-yellow, which smell just like roses. The foliage is compact and the plant is easy to grow as well as pest and disease resistant. A must have architectural plant.
Thalictrum can be cut back after flowering or delayed until the late winter/early spring as the foliage and seed heads remain attractive. Thalictrum can self seed but not so much as to be invasive and is trouble free. If you need to divide a clump, this is best done early spring or early autumn.
Meadow Rue belongs to the Ranunculaceae (buttercup) family. Because many Ranunculaceae are toxic, do not ingest the plant without proper instruction from a professional.
