How to Care for the Plant
Water
Philodendron Congo prefer soil a little on the drier side, so be sure to give it a dry out period between waterings. As epiphytes with aerial roots, they are sensitive to overwatering. Typically, you shouldn't have to water your Philodendron Congo more than once every 7-10 days, when the top 2"-3" of the soil are dry.
Pruning
Cutting back philodendron plants is beneficial if the plant is taking up too much space in the room, or if the plant looks long and leggy. This type of pruning is best done in spring or fall.
