Silvery green lobed leaflets cascade off stems which are lightly covered in brown fur. This Cissus really transforms a space by adding different textures and shapes. Water when 80% of the soil is dry. Repot every two years to give the roots more space to grow and to replenish the soil.
Water the plant thoroughly and allow the water to drain through. Never let the plant stand in water as this will cause root rot. Set potted Cissus on a bed of pebbles with water (not touching the base of the pot) to humidify the air around it.
Feed plants at half strength using a houseplant or African violet fertilizer once per season. If the leaves remain rich green, you are feeding enough. If they become pale or yellow, provide an extra feeding.
The amount to prune is dependent on the amount of light provided and the results you desire. If your plant becomes gangly with the tendrils stretching toward the light, trim it back to retain a bushier appearance.
Ideal temperature: Cissus can tolerate temperatures ranging from 35°-90° degrees Fahrenheit. The plant prefers 60°-80°o degrees Fahrenheit.
Non-Toxic to Dogs, Non-Toxic to Cats, Non-Toxic to Horses. Cissus Ellen Danica, commonly known as the Grape Vine is densely covered in the lush green leaves that are diamond shaped with irregularly toothed edges and rust coloured, hairy undersides. It's a tendril climber that is suitable to grow on a trellis, pergola or on a lattice wall.
