Cereus Validus also know as Cereus forbesii 'Spiralis', is a rare attractive Cactus with numerous columnar stems. The stems are spiral-growing with short spines up to 16.5 feet (5m).
From spring to fall, during the active growth period, water thoroughly, but allow the soil to dry out before watering again.
When caring for the Cereus Validus 'Spiralis' it is important to understand the plants watering and soil needs so that it can thrive longer.
This type of succulent prefers a warm climate. It can survive at zone 9a-11b which is around -6.7°C (20°F). If you live in a cold area, it is better to plant Spiralis in an indoor environment.
It is not poisonous. The spines are sharp so the plant should be handled carefully. Synonyms include Cereus peruvianus forma spirale, Cereus peruvianous tortuosus, Twisted Cereus, and Contorted Cereus. Cereus Validus is known to be a beautiful cacti that has blue-green stems that are often considered to be solid almost tree like. As the plant matures you can expect it to to reach up to around 6 m (20ft) tall. The plant has medium long brown spines that are a notable feature of this cacti as best seen by the image.
