Luffa cylindrica is a large climber with a stout stem, seed 1–2 cm long and 0.8 cm wide. Leaves are large, 10–20 cm long and 9–21 cm wide. The plant contains various phytochemical, such as alkaloid, steroid, triterpinoid, flavonoid and glycoside. The fruit, eaten as a vegetable and is good for health.
