Coffea is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. Coffea species are shrubs or small trees native to tropical and southern Africa and tropical Asia. The seeds of some species, called coffee beans, are used to flavor various beverages and products. The fruits, like the seeds, contain a large amount of caffeine, and have a distinct sweet taste and are often juiced. The plant ranks as one of the world's most valuable and widely traded commodity crops and is an important export product of several countries, including those in Central and South America, the Caribbean and Africa.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
When watering the coffea arabica plant, it is best to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Use 1/3 of a cup of water, and pour near the base of the plant. Adjust your watering amounts as the months change. One great thing about these plants is that the leaves are a big indication of when you need to water. If it’s time, the leaves will become droopy. See below for an example of the leaves drooping. You can also mist your plant occasional with warm water and clean the leaves with a damp cloth.
Pruning
Remove the branches at the bottom of the trunk. Leave only the thickest and best branches on the trunk. Cut away all the small branches that grow on the trunk. Cut away all the dead and dry branches, and all diseased branches.
Fertilizer
This tree needs a fertilizer that's high in nitrogen. Rose and citrus fertilizers are excellent at keeping your coffee plant healthy. You can also fertilize with coffee grounds, since they're full of the exact nutrients the tree needs!
Temperature
Temperature: The optimal average temperature range for coffee plants is a daytime temperature between 21 to 27 degrees Celsius and a nighttime temperature between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius.
