Puka , or Merita Sinclair is a woody plant , one of the species of the genus Merita of the Araliaceae family
Merita Sinclair is a resinous tree up to 8 m high. Leaves are simple, large, some are 40-50 cm long and 20 cm wide, the petiole can be up to 35 cm long . The flowers are white or greenish , gathered in a panicle , the fruit is a black berry . Puka, although it occupies the southernmost part of the range of merita species, is also afraid of frost , especially young plants.
