How to Care for the Plant
Water
So if you live in a hot or dry location then you will most certainly be watering more often than you would in a cold or humid location. The same goes for the different seasons of the year as the summer will require more frequent watering than the winter will and so on.So in general you can expect to be watering your Echeveria Pollux on a weekly basis in the summer or in a hot location and once a month in the winter or in a more cold climate. The spring and the fall will be more in the middle at watering frequencies of once every other week or more.
Pruning
When it’s time to cut, make sure you get one of the new leaflets growing near the top of the rosette along with part of the stem. Place them somewhere away from direct sunlight with good air circulation.
Fertilizer
From spring to fall, use a slow-release fertilizer once every two weeks. On young plants, use a cactus fertilizer or a low-nitrogen fertilizer mix. For mature plants, use a 2-7-7 liquid fertilizer diluted 2 – 4 times the suggested amount
Sunlight
In general this succulent will want at least 5 hours of full to partial sunlight on a daily basis to provide healthy strong growth. This can be done by placing this succulent outdoors for the sun to provide the light, on a window sill or by using an indoor grow light for succulents.
Soil
All succulents need the right type of soil to grow and thrive. They prefer well-drained, light, and porous soil rather than heavy garden soil that’s rich in nutrients and minerals.A great idea is to use a mix of cactus and succulent soil. You can also add some Perlite or some coarse-grained sand. They’re both great at removing excess water.
Temperature
Echeveria Pollux is actually not very cold hardy and can only really withstand temperatures that are above 20 degrees Fahrenheit
Container
Using containers with drainage holes is also a good idea if you plan on growing your Echeveria Pollux in a container.
