The Lotus vine is a creeping perennial plant from the Fabaceae family. This flowering green beauty is often used in landscape design but can also thrive indoors.

Lotus berthelotii is a tropical plant found in the Canaries, Azores, Cape Verde, and Madeira. The stem can reach a length of 37 inches (about 1 m). This plant also grows up to 10 inches (22 cm) in height. Lotus vine is covered with numerous thin leaves 0.5-1 inches (1.5-3 cm) long. This plant is quite a sight during flowering, producing bright, eccentric red-yellow flowers shaped like flames. The blossoms are about 1 inch (3 cm) in size.
