Near black this is the deepest coloured Calla Lily available. Zantedeschia Black Star boasts dramatic deep maroon spathes standing on dark tube like stems, surrounded by bright green wavy foliage speckled with white. Native to the hot and humid climates of South Africa, the Calla Lily is mostly found by lakes in moist soils, therefore prefers well-drained soil in a full or half sun location. Calla Lilies are dramatic additions to outdoor gardens with their distinctive funnel-shaped blossoms, but also make excellent cut flowers.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
The best way to water a peace lily is to set the plant in the sink. pour water slowly onto the soil until liquid drips through the bottom of the pot. let the plant drain thoroughly, then return it to its drainage saucer. never let the plant sit in water, as disease caused by excess water is the number one reason for houseplant death.
Pruning
By removing overgrown foliage, you will improve airflow to the plant, and light will be better able to penetrate all portions of the plant. This actually leads to a fuller and healthier looking houseplant.
Fertilizer
When it comes to fertilizers, you want to avoid over-fertilizing (just like an overdose of vitamins isn't great for us, either). Less is more, so it’s important to follow what the package says for application amounts.
Sunlight
Needs 12-18 hours of indirect sunlight.
Soil
They need well-drained, moisture-retentive soil, so add lots of organic matter when planting. In heavy clay soils, plant the bulbs on a layer of coarse sand or gravel to improve drainage.
Temperature
Calla lilies like a fairly warm environment. A summer day temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit is perfect for them. They also enjoy humidity and moisture, so humid summers keep the flowers blooming just fine. If temperatures go much below 50, the plants will tend to go dormant. If you want to dig up your rhizomes for overwintering, do so before temperatures go below freezing in your area in the fall.
Container
To grow potted lily plants, you will need these few things: ... A medium to large, well-draining pot – Proper drainage is very important for lilies. While they like moist soil, sopping wet soil will cause the bulbs to rot. Make sure you select a container with drainage holes on the bottom
