Ivy gourd overgrows and can turn invasive if left unchecked. So, it’s important that you prune off the stems that are growing out of limit. Make sure that the pruning shear is sharp and well-oiled. After pruning dispose of the fallen stems, or they might root.Once the plant has stopped producing after the fruiting season, you can prune it off, leaving only 2-3 feet of thick bottom stem left. The fresh growth will start from it again.
