Spathiphyllum (Domino) is a variety of the common Peace Lily. This sturdy and easy-to-grow plant has beautiful white "brushstrokes" on its leaves and produces beautiful flowers once it matures.
A Spathiphyllum "Domino" will make a great addition to any bedroom or living room interior. It produces long lance-like leaves with a white pattern. The flowers are green when they are young and turn snowy-white once they mature and open.
This plant needs regular irrigation in the summer. Be careful not to overwater your flowering beauty! Keep the soil moist but let the top dry a little before watering your plant again. In the winter, the growing medium can stay damp for weeks, so your Lily will need less liquid.
These pretty flowering plants like light. However, direct sunshine can damage their leaves. Your best bet is to put your greenie in the partial shade next to an east-facing window.
Feed your Lily every two weeks with diluted liquid plant fertilizer. It's best to do it from spring until fall. Magnesium and iron are essential for your greenie's nutrition.
A peat-based potting mix with perlite would be the best choice. Use a well-draining, nutrient-rich type of soil.
Peace Lily is easily propagated by root division. Carefully divide the stems into the corresponding root balls. Next, plant them separately.
Your Spathiphyllum will feel good at average room temperature. Don't let it fall below 55°F (12°C) in winter, and protect your green pet from cold drafts.
There are no special requirements. Any material will work. Just remember to make sure your pot has drainage holes.
