Craspedia, also known as Billy buttons, is a beautiful plant that originates from Australia. Craspedia is a member of the Daisy family that is distinguished by its rosette of leaves and yellow spherical flowers. These flowers look pretty much like tennis balls. Craspedia blooms year-round in hot climates. It is a very ornamental plant that will make your garden look terrific.
Craspedia grows in fairly dry but cool soil, so it is better to water only when you find top one-inch layer dry.
Exposure to full sun is required, at least 6 six hours of direct sunlight helps the plant to bloom profusely.
Growing Craspedia doesn’t require the application of additional fertilizer. However, you can fertilize it once at the beginning of the growing season with slow-release 7-12-7 fertilizer. While planting, you can incorporate compost or aged manure.
Craspedia grows in all types of soil, except acidic and there are no other special requirements. Practically, it is better to grow it in light and well-drained soil.
