Pothos N'Joy is one of the newer varieties of variegated Pothos available to home growers. N'Joy is just as easy to grow as Golden, Jade or Marble Queen Pothos. It will adapt and thrive in bright natural lighting all the way down to living in just artificial lighting in an office.
Figuring out a watering schedule that works for your scindapsus pictus isn't too hard and the plant is quite forgiving. This is part of what makes this species such a great option for beginners. it's not possible to tell you exactly how often you should water yours, though, as it all depends on the conditions in your climate.
Partial sun generally means less than six and more than four hours of sun per day. Plants for partial sun will do well in a location where they receive a break from the sun each day. They like the sun but will not tolerate a full day of it and need at least some shade each day.
Liquid fertilizers are applied more frequently, bi-weekly or monthly, for example. Granular products are used less frequently, perhaps once every month or two. Slow-release houseplant fertilizers break down slowly and release their nutrients in small amounts, over a longer period of time. A single application of most of these products lasts for three to four months.
Loamy soil, a relatively even mix of sand, silt and clay, feels fine-textured and slightly damp. It has ideal characteristics for gardening, lawns and shrubs. Loamy soil has great structure, adequate drainage, is moisture retaining, full of nutrients, easily cultivated and it warms up quickly in spring, but doesn't dry out quickly in summer.
Get rid of damaged leaves and stems. This is important because damaged leaves and stems can actually be an energy drain on your plant. By removing those dead parts, you're taking some of that work off your plant’s plate and allowing it to divert its energy into healthy leaves and new growth!
No lower than 10°C / 50°F in Winter and ideally between 18°C - 24°C / 65°F - 75°F in the other seasons.
Plants that don't like a lot of moisture will need a drainage hole for moisture to escape and for airflow to circulate through the pot. Another important function of drainage holes is to allow water to flush the soil of excess salts from fertilizers.
All parts of plant contain calcium oxalate crystals, an irritant to the mouth and esophagus. Toxic to cats and dogs.
