Jasminum sambac is an evergreen vine or shrub. The plant bears dark green glossy foliage and white flowers. Allow the soil to dry out before watering. Water Jasmine plant thoroughly until water comes out the drainage holes, but always keep the drip tray empty. Reduce the frequency of watering in winter.
Sambac Jasmine, when grown indoors prefers are much bright light as possible. Southern facing windowsills would be ideal. These plants will thrive if put outside in the summer. Exposure can be full sun to partial sun.
For its profusion of flowers, you may think you need to give it heavy doses of fertilizer. But Belle of India Jasmine is not a heavy feeder. It will, however, benefit from a slow-release fertilizer in springtime to keep it healthy and productive. You don't want to fertilize it in winter; let it rest before applying fertilizer again in springtime.
Plant in a free draining rich soil by mixing two parts loam, two parts peat moss and one part river sand. You can also add coconut coir or organic compost into the soil to increase the moisture retention.
