The Dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana' plant, also known as the corn plant, is made up of shiny green leaves that have a yellow streak running down the center of the leaves. If you want to grow the plant outdoors, however, you must live in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 10B through 11. These tropical plants don't handle cold temperatures well.
To care for mass cane plant (dracaena massangeana) grow it in well-draining potting soil and high humidity. Water a plant when a soil is partially dry.
The idea temperature for mass cane is 60°F (15°C) to 75°F (24°C). Conditions below 55°F/12°C will cause the leaves' edges to turn light grey or brown. Guard it from the wind and cold by keeping it away from open windows in the winter.
