Philodendron Radiante Care
Philodendron luxurians ‘Radiante’

This plant is a cultivar of the Philodendron Luxurians that differs from the original specimen mainly in thicker and bright white and more prominent veining. It still maintains the species' main characteristics, and it's easy to identify by the heart-shaped green leaves with a pinkish tint on the leaves' underside and a velvety polish.
Another diversion from the Philodendron Luxurians is that the 'Radiante' is considered low maintenance in comparison, making it a better option for those who are not as skilled or involved in plant nursing.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Water when the soil feels slightly wet by saturating the substrate until the water leaks from the drainage holes. Make sure always to discard this excess water. Lack of humidity will cause the tips and edges of the leaves to brown, so pebble trays, misting or humidifiers are good solutions for lack of humidity.
Pruning
Pruning is not required, just the removal of damaged parts.
Fertilizer
Philodendron Luxurians' Radiante' should be fertilized during spring and summer with an all-purpose liquid houseplant fertilizer. Do it about once a month and don't fertilize in winter. Make sure to cut the strength of the fertilizer to half.
Sunlight
Bright indirect light is ideal, although this plant can tolerate shade and low-light environments. If needed, artificial glow lights are a good solution for the lack of light. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, as it can lead to sunburn.
Soil
The substrate must retain water without sogging, so loose, well-drained soils rich in organic matter are ideal.
Propagation
It can be propagated by stem cuttings, division, and seeds, although seeds are rare to find. Propagate in spring and early summer.
Temperature
It can't tolerate frost or extremely cold temperatures. The ideal range is between 65-85 ºF (18-29 ºC). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes, and temperatures should never drop below 55 ºF (13 ºC).
Container
This plant requires a container with drainage holes.
