How to Care for the Plant
Water
During the period of active growth, the plant needs a lot of water. Therefore, water it as soon as the top layer of the soil dries, but avoid getting water on the leaves, as this can cause rot.
Pruning
Since this plant is quite miniature, it does not need traditional pruning. Instead, remove dead leaves and faded flowers regularly to keep the plant blooming.
Fertilizer
Feed Persian Cyclamen with a low-nitrogen liquid fertilizer during active growth. Do this every few weeks while the plant leaves. Avoid fertilizing in summer.
Sunlight
This plant needs bright indirect light during the growing season, so place the pot on a southern or eastern windowsill.
Soil
Persian Cyclamen likes rich and well-drained soil. In addition, the mixture should be slightly acidic. You can prepare such soil yourself, using a universal mixture of flowers and sphagnum peat to increase acidity.
Propagation
Persian Cyclamen is difficult to reproduce at home. The best way to do this is by dividing the roots, but this must be done very carefully so as not to damage the tubers. Keep in mind that cutting the tubers causes them to rot.
Temperature
Cyclamen persicum likes a temperate climate but does not tolerate heat, drafts, and dry air. It prefers 60-70°F (15.5-21°C) during the day and 40-50°F (4.4-10°C) at night.
Container
Choose a pot that will leave about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of room around the roots. Make sure the container has drainage holes, and the material of the pot doesn't matter. This plant must be transplanted every two years.
