when 1 seed sprouts & grows but the 2nd on other side doesn’t 🤷🏻‍♂️

Turned into an extremely healthy looking tomato plant that I have been pruning heavily to keep it short, unlike my other 8 foot tall tomatoes. With this particular plant since it grew by itself & its shape from pruning. Ive decided to work on bonsai trimming skills. some thing Ive researched & learned about recently, teaching myself new things through studys & research. Ever thought about what people do when they wake up in the middle of the night & cant sleep? well, This is me. I research stuff I study stuff & I teach myself new stuff 🤔 hmmm but is it possible? I honestly have no idea but you tell me what it looks like to you? So Far So Good 😊 🤙🏽 & an 8ft tall tomato plant huh? When most tomatoes are struggling to survive or even dying?? Ya right got to see it to believe it. Not the best picture because my arm only reaches so long, but Im 6 1” my arm is about that long & this is about 8 foot-ish. or higher 😳🤯🤷🏻‍♂️ Way toooo big to bring inside lol smdh worries about all my plants with cold weather getting closer 😅

Jumbo Sweet Banana Pepper + Mammoth Jalapeño + Peace Lily baby patch

Im not really sure how all these plants got into the same pot but here we are! Repotting time turns into breeding experiment. Pulled entire content of the pot out. Separated the peace lily into 5 new plants. 3 extremely healthy baby lilies in 4”pots, 1 healthy baby the same size in water “testing to see what happens” so far its thriving with new growth surprising considering how little they actually like water. 🤯 & had 3 individual baby sprouts fall off in the process so put them in a cup of water to establish more root development b4 putting them in soil 🤙🏽 Kept the big banana pepper plant & mammoth jalapeño together, actually tied them together with a neon green bread tie. The roots were so tied together from growing so close to one another Im not going to kill them by trying to separate them. So I put them up to their neck in a very large pot with three times as much soil. & I will cross pollinate them creating a new pepper. A Sweet & Spicy Mammoth Banana Jalapeño Pepper😳🤔🤤or something 🤷🏻‍♂️lol

Holy Moly What is That?!

Crawling across my driveway !! at first glance, I thought one of my cats was playing with a stick, but I think she was trying to figure out why that stick was moving. It is literally the size of my thumb. !! I showed my mom and at first glance she thought it might have been a tobacco worm, but said theyre normally green. What an odd thing to see helping Ma get in the car for church. I said well dont run it over what if its a butterfly itll be like the size of a chicken.!!! lol Im super curious if anyone knows what type of caterpillar this is its about 5 to 6 inches long and about a half an inch round picture shows the front, from the side, and the back

This mornings before the storm harvest

Harvested everything that was ripe or ripening that I thought could cause damage from its weight. Still a lot of peppers out there, but theyre all green few tomatoes as well. Already having 45 mph gusts so I moved a few plants & pruned some also. Not a little storm coming this time winds were 145 mph last I checked All the peppers on top are sweet. All the peppers on the bottom are hot. 13 super sweet banana peppers 13 jalapenos 4 mammoths rest are chili jalapenos 2 green lil ones fell off 12 cherry tomatoes 4 okra 3 basil leaves 1 Yellow Boy tomato 😬 Trying to decide whether I should fertilize them or bring them under shelter 😅

there’s been a lot of beautiful roses posted recently

So I figured I would check on mine & heres what we have today. I planted this rosebush in my yard when my dad died 25 years ago and it takes care of itself. It has probably grown to be about 8 foot tall and 12 foot wide give or take. And Naturally grows bouquets of roses, not one or not a few but entire bouquets. Huge clusters 🫶🏽

repotted a jalapeño today that just insisted growing side ways lol

One of my biggest producers of jalapeños this year look at all those peppers. It growing crooked from a young age & then growing 25 peppers it seemed to lean more every time I watered it. So pulled it out the pot knocked some dirt off the outside roots added some more soil to the pot. Straightened it up & filled the pot up. Its in about a 4gallon pot.

2 “red” gingers & 1 “white” ginger & what may be a “Air plant” & Black Bamboo

Other ground cover plants for my “Tropical rainforest raised bed” project. Partially a container garden until I get the placement right “in my eyes” for the look Im wanting. And so I can bring the smaller plants inside and keep them alive over winter. I will put them in the ground next spring when things will really start to grow like crazy. Any advice, tips, plant suggestions or opinions are welcome. I have a few other plants Im thinking about adding but would really like some input from the community. Thank you ahead of time 🫶🏽

Still not 100% sure what kind of banana plant ive been blessed with 🤷🏻‍♂️

I believe Its either a Platano, Musa Basjoo or a Caverndish Banana. Either way heres an update on my banana plants with some elephant ears & purple velvet elephant ears “Toros” & a few other plants for the “jungle floor” a few asiatic lilies behind the big banana plant dying back for the season. Every single plant in the picture is flourishing with new growth & babies😁 except for the lilies, which make bulbs underground for next year. The Mexican blue bell has the Purple flowers behind the banana plant “my hummingbird tree” I noticed yesterday they really love that plant with those purple flowers 😇 So I have to say my “raised tropical rain forest bed” project is coming along nicely & successful. The look isnt quite there yet, but its growing in very well and I only see it getting better with time. & a few more jungly plants

Trying something New, Day 1 Crown cut & placed in water

Store bought pineapple. Chopped the top off, leaving 1 inch of meat & put the top into a container of fresh rainwater. Was going to leave it at that & see what happens but, couldnt stand all the brown ugly. So I gave it a good hair cut too. Ive never done this before, simply never even thought about trying to grow one lol. figured why not 🤷🏻‍♂️ Hopefully all the cutting wont change the outcome to a negative one well see!

a gift I received i guess 2 months ago now

1st pic shows it with some struggles from heat stress and not the best of care and over the last two months. The second picture shows how its doing after two tropical storms and a little less heat. It has at least eight new babies growing around it and some major new growth “ I sat it out in the rain during our last tropical storm a few days ago” its been doing rather well overall, but this growth spurt after this last little bit tropical depression/storm we had is quite impressive 😁 I believe its about time for a bigger pot whatchu think?

new shoots

Had to dump water out of the container this morning from rain most of the day yesterday. Had a strong thunderstorm roll through as well dumping lots of rain. This container has a hole I drilled in each side about 3 inches from the bottom. probably needs more in the bottom. I want it to hold water well, but not sit in it On a positive note, the grass is really green 🫶🏽

my biggest & smallest banana tree

Big daddy here has gotten a few compliments the last 2 weeks by passerbys Who have seen how big its gotten since I planted it. My 1st experience with any banana plant & I have to say its been awesome so far. This little sprout will be the second one off of the biggest plant. When I got it, it was barely 2 foot tall. & has grown 7-8 feet since I put it in the ground this summer. To say the least, I am certainly not looking forward to fall and winter. Freeze will kill it to the ground if I dont do some major winterizing. Or dig it up & put it somewhere 🤦🏻‍♂️ so I want to at least dig up the baby & put it in a pot, but I dont want to damage the big ones root system 🤷🏻‍♂️ idk
