How about Donkey's tail (Sedum morganianum) is interesting looking succulent.
I really like spider plants, they are so easy to handle. I have a few in dirt, but the rest are just in a thing of water. (They can grow and live in the water) I keep them in the water until I find a home for them, but you don’t have to do that, they can stay in there for as long as you want… they need some sun, and that’s about it. I keep mine in a window facing north if that helps… good luck!
