when i water some of my plants, the soil doesn’t absorb the water immediately and causes it to float sort of.

it leaves like, a puddle of water on top
right after i water it, the soil is dry!!
Maybe try some different soil? I don’t know! I’ve never seen that happen before
@saigedream ok, thanks for your help!
I’ve had this happen as well, primarily to my outdoor plants. For my pots that were already planted, I used a wooden chopstick to poke holes down into the dirt so that the water had somewhere go. If you’re repotting I found that wetting the soil a bit before planting helped. I kept an old spray bottle near by and as I layered the dirt would dampen it with a few sprays. Hope this helps :)

Sometimes if the soil is too dense it does that, try mixing in some perlite or orchid soil to lighten the soil and create more air
@megsbabw129 @b8mrngk8t6 ok. thanks so much! i’ll try all of those suggestions!
Funny mine does the same thing and it’s the same plant as well. I just poke some holes in the dirt then I will wait a bit and drain the excess water. I figured I was just waiting to long to water.
