The true rose of Jericho (Anastatica hierochuntica) is native to western Asia and is the only species of the genus Anastatica of the mustard family (Brassicaceae). The small gray plant curls its branches and seedpods inward in the dry season, forming a ball that opens only when moistened.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
The Rose of Jericho is a plant that is incredibly hard to kill! It can be kept in a dark cupboard for years and still revive in water. When placed in a bowl of water, it perks up within about four hours. Don't leave it standing in water for more than a few days, as this will make it rot.
Pruning
Rose of Jericho doesn’t really need pruning, but you can use clean scissors to remove dead tips that don’t revive when the plant is fully hydrated. This will help keep it nice and pretty!
Fertilizer
Dilute 10-10-10 fertilizer at a rate 1/2 teaspoon for each 1 gallon of water and 20-20-20 at 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. Water with the solution every week from the middle of spring until late summer, applying it to previously moistened soil to prevent root burn.
Sunlight
Needs at least 3-4 hours of sunlight.
Soil
Perform well in most types of soil.
Temperature
Provide good air circulation, with temperatures between 65 (18 °C) to 75 F (23 °C) and nighttime temperatures between 50 t(10°C) to 60 F (15 °C).
