How to Care for the Plant
Water
During the pre-flowering period, reduce watering, letting the top ½ inch of soil dry out between waterings. After flowering, water only enough to keep soil barely moist for a period of three to six weeks. Rhipsalis do not like hard water and should, ideally, be watered with rainwater.
Pruning
Prune to maintain size and remove dead foliage.
Fertilizer
Fertilize monthly during the growing season. Use water soluble fertilizer at half strength.
Sunlight
Best grown in full sun to part shade.
Soil
A soil composed of peat moss, loam, or sand, or any soil mixture with good drainage can be used. The soil should not be overly fertile.
Temperature
Ideal temperatures should be approximately 65-75ºF + (18-24ºC +), closer to 70ºF is best.
